Private Residence

Eldorado Springs, Colorado

This award winning 3,500 SF residence in the Eldorado Springs area involved careful site planning relative to flood plain issues. The design employs 18" diameter Douglas Fir logs to create the central great room in the house. A sleeping porch further allows the clients to take advantage of Colorado's summer weather.

Private Residence

Boulder, Colorado

This private residence, located on a ridge northwest of Boulder, is a 5,000 SF custom home with views south to Pike's Peak and east to DIA. The open floor plan and stepped exterior window wall were all designed to take maximum advantage of the sunlight and views. Access to the site involved planning a one mile long driveway.

Concept Sketch

This 4,000 S.F. residence was a remodel of an existing 1950’s walk-out ranch style home. Due to sentimental value, the original home was kept with a relatively small addition. The entire floor plan was redesigned and the new character was accomplished with a new roof structure that bridges the existing house. The new house has commanding views of the entire Front Range with a variety of exterior living areas.

Entry

This 5,400 S.F. house was an addition to an existing 1950’s ranch style home. The new “character” was achieved by a two-story addition that has as it’s central focus a family/living realm including the entertainment area, kitchen, dining and greenhouse all focusing on the exterior courtyard with views of the Flatirons.

Midtown Co-Housing

Denver, Colorado

Midtown Co-Housing is a 19-unit mixed-income affordable housing project in Denver. Based around a courtyard scheme, the units present a contextual face to the street while simultaneously focusing social activities in the common space. Other site amenities include a fountain, gardens, and a common house complete with a dining hall, laundry and guest rooms. Sustainable design was a prime consideration in choosing the systems and materials for this infill project.
