The concept behind this resort was to provide secluded private cabanas along the waters edge. The original prototype was a bed oriented to the water with a freshwater negative edge pool in the foreground. Attached to the 24’-0” x 24’-0” cabana is a luxurious bathroom focused on tropical gardens complete with outdoor showers. This cabana concept was further developed into several two bedroom units and an over the water unit. This private resort has hosted many dignitaries and celebrities such as Tiger Woods and Leonardo DiCaprio. For more information please visit the resort's web site at: www.aprivateisland.com |

The challenge of this site was to create a five star Caribbean destination resort on a piece of land locked property. The solution created an internally focused luxurious landscaped site, designing units to ensure through ventilation and building to three stories with roof gardens to obtain both sunrise and sunset views to the water. The central focus of the project consisted of a world class pool, fitness center and spa. All internal circulation was to be pedestrian with golf cart access around the perimeter. Garth Braun Associates, P.C. was asked to incorporate the completed first building phase into a cohesive resort concept. GBA developed the master plan around an all inclusive wellness spa concept focused on physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Unlike other resorts in the area, this spa-centric resort will be one of the first of its kind in the Caribbean. The spa will offer a wide array of treatments including ayurvedic & hot stone messages, yoga and tai chi, gardens for raising organic food, an educational/training center to teach wellness to clientele, and various meditation areas, including a walk-on-water stone pathway to a bird sanctuary island. Accommodations range from hotel rooms to exclusive 3 bedroom villas along the water’s edge. For more information please visit the resort's web site at: www.brahmablue.com |
